In 1960s Denmark, a television salesman made his fortune by revolutionizing hairdressing. A success story inspired by true events, it won the Best European Series award at the 2023 La Rochelle TV Fiction Festival.

At first glance, the story may seem completely far-fetched, but it's true: the owner of a Danish radio and television store developed a revolutionary invention in the 1960s: the electric curler. After hearing women complain about the hours they spent in hair salons and stumbling across an inventor's classified ad, entrepreneur Arne Bybjerg Pedersen (1928-2022) embarked on the adventure. He went on to found an empire, Carmen Curlers, which, at its peak, had more than 3,000 employees.
